We are excited to be focusing our Greenwich House workshops next season on the “father of the string quartet” Franz Josef Haydn, continuing our recent study of his opus 20 and opus 50 works. On Sunday, November 12, 2023 we’ll explore opus 20#3 in G Minor and Sunday, April 14, 2024 we’ll feature opus 50#3 in Eb Major. Please help us celebrate the incomparable brilliance, humanity and wit of this great creator on the grand occasion of his 291st Birthday!
The Workshop will include:
- One-on-one coaching in quartet format
- Talk by Dr. David Clampitt musicologist at Ohio State University on historical and theoretical
aspects of the work - Catered lunch
- Performance of the work by the MSQ
